There are many ways in which you can bluff other players at the poker playing table. One of the most effective bluffing strategies is to utilize things like facial expressions and body language to throw other players off. For example, if you have a really bad hand may want to make some sort of facial expression that would cause players to believe that you were just dealt the best hand at the table. Remember not to overdo this. You will want your facial expression to be fleeting and you will want it to look like it was not intended for anyone else to see. The same can be said if you are dealt an excellent hand but would like other players to believe your hand is about good. The best method of bluffing in this circumstance is to take more time when making decisions about your bet. The longer you ponder the more other players will believe that you are being faced with a very hard decision. Obviously, if you have three of a kind aces high then your first impulse will be to raise the bet significantly.
The key to effective bluffing is to make it look as natural as possible and to throw people off by causing them to believe that you have just revealed something to them through your body language that you did not intend to. Most everyone has heard the term poker face but is important to remember that the poker face can take on many forms.
